THE COMPETENCIES OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGERS RELATED TO WORK EFFICIENCY AND PERFORMANCE OF MANUFACTURE INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYEES, PATHUM THANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The purpose of this research is: 1) to study the competency of human resource managers. 2) To study the work efficiency of employees. 3) To study work performance of employees. And 4) to study the relationships between the competency of human resource managers, work efficiency and performance of industrial employees in Pathumthani province. From the population of 3,776 factories, 30 were selected with purposive sampling. The sample size was calculated with the formula of Cochran, W.G. (1953) which calculated from unknown population, resulted with 385 samples and data were collected from 13 manufacturing factory employees each. The research tools used were questionnaires. The Index of consistency (IOC) were 0.954 to 1.00 and Reliability of .923, which was a quantitative research. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson's correlation coefficient.

 

The study had shown that:

      1) The significance of competency of human resource managers in general was at a high level. When considered each aspect respectively, teamwork was found to be the highest, followed by achievement, ethics, skills, attributes, expertise, and knowledge.

      2) The significance of work efficiency in general was at a high level. When considered each aspect respectively, workload was found to be the highest, followed by work quality, expenses, and time.

      3) The significance of work performance in general was at a high level. When considered each aspect respectively, the effectiveness of work was found to be the highest, followed by job satisfaction, and work-related skills.

      4) The competency of human resource managers had a medium positive relationship with work efficiency (r = .636). The competency of human resource managers had a medium positive relationship with work performance
(r = .601). And, work efficiency had a medium positive relationship with work performance (r = .554). All at the statistically significant level of .01.
