STAR : DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS OF TEACHERS IN COMPETENCY – ASED CURRICULUM MANAGEMENT

Abstract

Ministry of Education requires competency – based curriculum in primary schools that are preparation for competency – based curriculum implementation in classrooms. However, it is necessity to prepare by developing new curriculum that is appropriate to the school context , learning management that is focus on practical and competency – based assessment that is focus on expected outcomes. Teachers have to change their roles by facilitation learners to create their self  learning  processes. Learners can learn from problem – based learning and their works development that are expected outcomes. Competency is desired characteristics of teachers in 21 st century which support successful learning and teaching process. Firstly , teachers need to develop their competencies for changing their roles. Teachers promote learners ‘ abilities and thinking skills for changing situations. Desired characteristics of teachers in competency – based curriculum management is teachers characteristics for self development to be role model of learners.
