eHealth Literacy Determinant Affecting Self-Care Ability in People Who at Risk of Non-communicable Diseases
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the confirmatory components and causal model of eHealth literacy determinant affecting self-care ability in people who at risk of non-communicable diseases were consistent with empirical evidence. Data were acquired employing quantitative research method and closed-ended questionnaires. The sample included 160 respondents who were at risk for non-communicable diseases. The study’s findings showed that the measurement and causal model of eHealth literacy determinant influencing self-care ability in people who at risk for non-communicable diseases were consistent with empirical data, with the 5 latent variables and 10 observed variables potentially serving as causal model components. In addition, the latent variable of eHealth literacy had a positive indirect effect on the self-care ability of those who at risk of developing non-communicable diseases, as measured by perceived risk and severity, Meanwhile, perceived behavioral control, and conformity to the subjective norm. Perceived behavioral control was the latent variable with the highest potential to predict self-care ability among those who at risk of suffering from non-communicable diseases at 66%, with an R2 of 0.66.
