THE INTERACTION EFFECTS OF PERSONAL FACTORS AND WORKING HOURS ON THE OVERALL WELL-BEING OF WORKERS IN CHONBURI PROVINCE

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the overall well-being of workers and to examine personal factors that interact with working hours and influence the overall well-being of workers in Chonburi Province. The sample consisted of 400 workers, determined using Yamane’s formula, and convenience sampling was employed. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The well-being questions were based on the World Health Organization’s standardized five-item measure of overall well-being. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, one-way ANOVA, and two-way ANOVA. The results revealed that differences in age, marital status, income, number of dependents, and working hours were associated with differences in the overall well-being of workers. In addition, personal factors interacted with working hours and influenced the overall well-being of workers. The interaction between working hours and income had a large effect on the overall well-being of workers, with an effect size of 0.21.
