Aging Society and the Challenge of School Administrators

Abstract

With the increasing number of the aging population in Thai society, in the future the number of older people will be higher than that of adolescents and working age, the population aged 60 and over accounts for 20 percent of the total population of each country. The aging society will affect economics, society, politics, government, and it will most likely affect the school-aged and working-age population in the future. Thailand plans to address this issue in its 20-year National Strategy as a strategic framework to address the impact of aging society. The Ministry of Education needs to prepare for the aging society problem into action. Schools should implement a number of policies and ideas scattered throughout the country in order to propel school-age and working-age people into quality elderly people. The elderly are promoted to be happy mentally and mentally by organizing activities both inside and outside educational institutions and cooperating with various networks to develop methods and share experiences in solving problems arising from the impacts of the elderly society. The issue of aging society is an important issue globally, nationally, and community, and it is a challenge for school administrators to shape their vision, strategies to prepare for the aging society situation.
