The Application of the AKITA Instructional Model (AIM) In Primary School

Abstract

This article presents the history of AKITA proactive teaching, the concept of AKITA proactive teaching, and the role of administrators and teachers in the AKITA proactive teaching model. AKITA action's proactive teaching method (AKITA Action) is a process-based teaching model that allows students to come up with solutions to problems through group discussions  on their own custom learning topic. It has 4 steps: 1) making observations on learning about the learning topic); 2) taking the own ideas; 3) Discussion in pairs, groups, or entire classes; 4) Review of the content and learning methods. In addition, there are five success factors that can make AKITA proactive teaching even more effective: 1) the leadership of the school provider to lead teamwork; 2) cooperation of families and local communities; 3) strong cooperation between educational organizations; 4) the role of the education committee with a proactive approach to improving education in the area; And 5) Effective use of the AKITA model.
