Abstract

This research has the following objectives: (1) To enhance the conceptual understanding of mathematics teaching and learning at the high school level for Mathematics students majoring in mathematics, following the 70/70 criteria. (2) To study the conceptual understanding in the teaching sequences of sequences and series in high school mathematics among Mathematics students. (3) To investigate the ability to design learning management plans and the teaching of high school mathematics sequences and series among mathematics students. The research target group consists of third-year mathematics education students at the Faculty of Education, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, who are enrolled in the mathematics teaching and learning management course at the high school level. There were 60 students in total.

The findings of this study were as follows: (1) Activities aimed at enhancing conceptual understanding in mathematics teaching and learning at the high school level were more effective than the 70/70 criteria, with an average score of 81.66 out of 86.66. (2) Conceptual understanding in teaching sequences and series in high school mathematics among Mathematics students exceeded 70 percent of the total score, with more than 70 percent achieving this level. (3) The ability to design lesson plans and structure the teaching of mathematics at the high school level among students in the Bachelor of Education Program with a major in Mathematics exceeds the 70 percent benchmark of full scores. More than 70 percent of the total student population achieved this high level of competence. The student's proficiency in designing learning plans and sequencing the teaching of mathematics at the high school level is excellent, with an average score of 16.15 and a standard deviation of 1.42.
