Guidelines for the Development of Vocational Education Teacher’s Competency in Chiang Rai Province.

Abstract

      Research Objectives  1) To study the needs for the development of vocational teacher competency in Chiang Rai province. 2) To develop the competency of vocational teachers in Chiang Rai province. The population used in this study was 504 teachers in Vocational Education Collages in Chiangrai province. Krecie and Morgan (1970:102) used a sample confidence of 95%.The sample group was 219 persons, stratified by population. The researcher used stratified random sampling. The tools used in the research and data collection were questionnaires and interviews. Statistics used in data analysis were the average score ( and standard deviation (S.D.). The study was found that The demand for competency development of vocational teachers in Chiang Rai province was overall at a high level. The most two demanding aspect are the self-development and the curriculum management and the learning management, followed by the leadership. The lowest demand is the analysis. Synthesis and research for learner development.The guideline for  competency development of  vocational education teachers in   Chiang Rai province are as follows. Aspect of self development management administrators should be encouraged to develop  themselves by attending training or  seminars on foreign language skills.Aspect of curriculum management and learning management. It should be taught in line with the development of the country and the needs of the workplace. Aspect of analysis synthesis and research for learner development it should be focussed on the development of action research that, the results can be used to developed to produce the useful products.Aspect of leadership Teachers are encouraged to participate in leadership training activities. Encourage the teacher to express and present idea reasonably.Aspect of the relationship and cooperation buiding  with the community for learning management. Teachers must be trained professional experience with the community.
