An Analysis of Female Main Characters Having Spiritual Journey in Religious Novels of Tamayanti

Abstract

          This research article was part of dissertation entitled Spiritual Journey: A case study of Presented Techniques of Female Characters in Religious Novels of Tamayanti. The objective was to analyze the female main characters having the spiritual journey in religious novels of Tamayanti using concept framework of Kularb Mallikamas for analyzing the techniques of writing characters consisted of 2 topics that were 1) considering personalities of characters for dividing into flat and round
2) considering types of characters for dividing into static and dynamic. The result found that the 7 female main characters having the spiritual journey were round characters. The most found personality was mercy appeared in 4 female main characters then the curiosity and intention appeared in 2 female main characters.
In addition, the different personalities were clam, hot-tempered, fair, decisive, endure, organized, solitary, self-confidence and self-prove. The types of characters found that the female main characters were both static and dynamic characters.
