Guidelines for promoting innovator characteristics of teacher students Lampang Rajabhat University

Abstract

          This research on the guidelines to promote teacher students’ innovator characters of Lampang Rajabhat University aimed to 1) synthesize and present the guidelines to promote teacher students’ innovator characters of Lampang Rajabhat University, and 2) study students’ perception on the guidelines to promote teacher students’ innovator characters of Lampang Rajabhat University. The sampling group were sixty students studying in the first year and the second year in the 2019 academic year attending in the bachelor degree of education (four-year curriculum). The research tools in collecting data were a synthesis record, an innovator character appropriateness validity index and a questionnaire focusing on students’ innovator characters. The 2-stage research results were as followed:

          Stage 1: The synthesis for teacher students’ innovator characters result revealed that it consisted of 8 main qualifications: 1) expert specialty, 2) practice, 3) thinking freedom, 4) teamwork, 5) intention, 6) leadership, 7) risk acceptance, and 8) creativity. The innovator character appropriateness validity index scores assessed by the experts were at the average of 4.32, 89.40%.  Thirty-four items with higher than the average scores of 4.51 were selected for collecting the data in stage 2.

          Stage 2:  The students’ perception in innovator characters revealed average scores at the high level ( = 4.13, S.D. = 0.66).  The three lowest average scores for students’ qualification improvement were thinking freedom at the high level ( = 3.92, S.D. = 0.73), creativity at the high level ( = 3.97, S.D. = 0.76), and expert specialty at the high level ( = 3.98, S.D. = 0.68) respectively.
