Development of Model and Mechanism for Academic Administration under JIAMS+H Model, Sanpatongwittakom School, Sanpatong District, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

          The purposes of this study were: to study operating condition, problems and analyzing needs for development of academic administration in the school, to construct, check efficiency and evaluate the model and the academic administration mechanism and to study the results of using the model and academic administration mechanism. The population and sampling were teachers, students and stake holders of Sanpatongwittayakom School in 2019 and 2020 academic year. The instruments were:  operating condition, problems and needs for development of academic administration questionnaire, efficiency checklist and the academic administration mechanism evaluation form and the academic administration mechanism handbooks, the academic administrative questionnaire, the O-NET summary forms of Mattayom Suksa 3 and 6 in 2019 and 2020 and responsiveness of stakeholders questionnaire. The statistic used for analyzing were mean, standard deviation and percentage. The finding revealed that: the operating condition, problems and the needs for development of academic administration were: personal administrative, curriculum, measurement and evaluation, instruction, learning organization development, students’ achievement and learning resources development.The construction of the model and the academic administration mechanism of the model were consisted of job descriptions and team development, integrating curriculum and instructional innovation creating, action research in classroom, management administration to Professional Learning Community (PLC), school academic quality development and handbook for teachers. The index of consistency (IOC) of the educational administration experts’ opinions on checking efficiency of the model and the academic administration mechanism was 0.87 and the evaluation of the academic administration mechanism was in strongly agree level. The results of using the model and academic administration mechanism of the model revealed that:  the teachers were able to use the model and academic administration mechanism in the most level, the average academic achievement scores of from the O-NET from 2018 to 2020 academic year was 9.30 percent higher than the national scores. The students, parents, members of school board, members of alumni association, members of parents and teacher association and community representative person reflected the academic administration of Sanpatongwittayakom school in highly satisfied level.
