THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL IMPACTS FROM THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC TOWARD THE PEOPLE IN YALA CITY MUNICIPALITY YALA PROVINCE

Abstract

          The objectives of this article were to investigate the economic and social impacts, to examine an adaptation to a new lifestyle as well as to explore ways to solve problems and mitigate the socio - economic impacts from the coronavirus outbreak (COVID - 19) in Yala city municipality, Yala Province. The samples in this study consisted of 400 people in 40 communities of Yala city municipality. The simple sampling method was employed. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics including percentage, mean, standard deviation. The results revealed that in terms of the economic and social impacts from the coronavirus 2019 (COVID - 19) pandemic, the overall results was at the moderate level. An adaptation by wearing a hygiene mask in order to prevent infection of COVID - 19, washing hands with soap before and after cooking, having alcohol gels with them, practicing social distancing in public areas, strictedly preventive measures for the 2019 coronavirus disease suggested by the govement, and understanding each others were proposed. However, the mentioned methods could be reduced the chance of infection at the moderate level. Besides, the results showed that people are not confident in the precautions guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID - 19 as suggested by the Ministry of Public Health for solving economic impact which include providing the aids of remedies, promoting an alternative career, supporting the cost of living, and creating the guidelines for solving the social impact problems. Moreover, the self-care approaches including health care, reducing public meetings, and the understanding with each other are introduced. The self-care included distributing masks thoroughly, encouraging people in the community to do an exercise, promoting the public relations, providing information about self - care, raising the awareness of treating the disease, and improving the medical treatment.
