GEOGRAPHICAL LITERACY LEARNING MANAGEMENT TO DEVELOP HOLISTIC THINKING SKILLS OF UPPER SECONDARY STUDENTS SARAPEEPITTAYAKOM SCHOOL

Abstract

          The objectives of this article were to study the holistic thinking skills using Geographical literacy learning management of upper secondary students in Sarapee Pittayakom School that is Experrimental Research. The research sample is Mattayomsuksa 6/1 students in Sarapee Pittayakom School, Chiang Mai Province, semester 2, academic year 2019. The sample were19 students, randomly sampling by lottery. The research instruments were 6 lesson plans in Geographical literacy learning and the holistic thinking skills test. The statistics used for data analysis were average, standard deviation and percentage. The results of the research revealed that the holistic thinking skills regarding the situation of natural resources and environment after using the learning process management plan for geography were higher than before studying. The highest number of holistic development issues, in the first ranking is the topic of participation in solving problems and living according to natural resource management guidelines with 33.5 percent improvement in the second Ranking is the topic analyzing the causes of the crisis by 30 percent, the fifth ranking is the topic that affects natural resources and the environment, with topics on sustainable natural resource management to help solve the said situation. 25.2 percent improved. Students had the posttest mean score were also statistically significant higher than the pretest. The students who learned Geographical literacy learning management had the pretest mean score of holistic thinking skills 11.15 and had the posttest mean score of holistic thinking skills 21. In addition, the student growth scores showed that the students developed at a good level and mean score 50.3 percent. In conclusion, The Geographical Literacy Learning Management helps to improve holistic thinking skills in geography.
