THE SITUATIONS, PROBLEMS, NEEDS AND GUIDELINES OF THE RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY MANAGEMENT FOR THE CURRENT STUDENTS AT RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY BASED IN BANGKOK AND CENTRAL AREA

Abstract

          The objectives of this research article were to 1) study and synthesize the situations, problems, and guidelines of the recreational activity management and 2) to scrutinize the needs assessment of the recreational activity management for the current students at Rajabhat university based in Bangkok and central area by using mixed method. The sample groups consisted of 1) five recreational activity experts. 2) five teachers or staffs who are the operator of student activities in Rajabhat University, with at least three years of experience, and 3) 400 students from five Rajabhat universities based in Bangkok and central area. Data was collected through the interview and questionnaire It is a 5-level rating scale of Likert to store 55 actual conditions of the discrepancy-based need assessment. Then, the qualitative data was elicited by using content analysis. The needs assessment of the recreational activity management for the current students at Rajabhat university based in Bangkok and central area was analyzed by the Modified Priority Need Index (PNImodified). According to the interview regarding the situations, problems, and guidelines of the recreational activity management, the result corresponded to the needs assessment. The needs assessment indicated that the highest index is the duration of the recreational activity (PNImodified = 1.04). The second index is the recreational activity management and budget (PNImodified = 1.03), the facilitator in the recreational activity (PNImodified = 1.02), the structure of the recreational activity and facilitator management (PNImodified = 1.01), and the facilities in the recreational activity (PNImodified = 1.00), respectively.
