THE SENIOR POPULATION’S NEEDS AND THE READINESS FOR SERVICE BY THE RELATED ORGANIZATIONS

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were to study the senior population’s needs and the readiness for service by the related organizations from the Northeast. The mixed-methods approach is applied for this research; a sample of 200 the senior population for quantitative research and 50 the related organizations for qualitative research was collected in the provinces of Kalasin, KhonKaen, Mahasarakham, and Roi Et. Using a simple sampling method. The findings can be summarized as follows. The senior subjects need to have good health at the highest level, that is at 92%; need to have healthiness nutritious intakes at the highest level, that is at 88%; need good ventilation fresh air and environment at the highest level, that is at 86%; need sufficient rest and regular health care at the highest level, that is at 80%; need free medical welfare at the highest level, that is at 76%; need a proper nursery, regular exercise and anti-accident care at the highest level, that is at 74%; need income and old-age assurance at the highest level, that is at 70%; need morale at the highest level, that is at 64%; they need to be supported by the family and society concerning everyday living, income, and services at the highest level, at 62%. According to the interview, all the organizations concerned are found to get ready preparation in the following fields: 1) Health care, 2) Budget allocation, 3) Housing and residing, 4) Employment, 5) Spirit of service mind, 6) Social awareness and 7) Policy and strategy.
