THE CONFIRMATORY FACTOR ANALYSIS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL - BEING OF MAHASARAKHAM UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

          The objectives of this research article were to investigate Mahasarakham University Students’ psychological well - being and to validate the consistency of Mahasarakham University Students’ psychological well - being model. Sample groups include Bachelor degree Mahasarakham University students, academic year 2020, consisting of 645 people, selected by stratified random sampling. The research instrument was the psychological well - being scale of Mahasarakham University students. The reliability of the instrument was equal to 0.94. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and the confirmatory factors were analyzed through statistical software package. The results of second order confirmatory factor analysis of model revealed that the psychological well - being of Mahasarakham University students consisted of 6 components. The model of psychological well - being of Mahasarakham University students was congruent with the empirical data. The factor loadings were high at the .05 level, and they were from 0.714 to 0.995. The construct validity of models was consistent with empirical data, with chi - square goodness of fit test at 1374.981; df = 945; p - value = 0.000; gif.latex?\chi&space;^{2}/df = 1.518; Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) = 0.910; Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI) = 0.900; Comparative fit index (CFI) = 0.968; Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR) = 0.038 and Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) = 0.027. The variables in the psychological well - being of Mahasarakham University Students model were consistent with the empirical data.
