SAFETY RICE PRODUCTION MODEL FORWARD TO GAP STANDARD IN SUPHAN BURI PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were to 1) analyze the cause that making agriculturists did not run on Good Agriculture Practices 2) study good practices for agriculturists run on Good Agriculture Practices 3) transfer safety rice farming knowledge and evaluate opportunity to pass Good Agriculture Practices guarantee. Qualitative method by document studies, in-depth interview and action research was used in this study. Sample had three groups consist of 1) ten agriculturists did not farm on Good Agriculture Practices 2) five master agriculturists were passed Good Agriculture Practices guarantee 3) twenty five agriculturists who had readiness to get Good Agriculture Practices guarantee evaluation. Total number of sample was fourty people. Using continuous sampling and purpose sampling.             The research results was found that factor affecting agriculturists did not run on GAP was lacking of accurate information record, indifferent price between safety paddy and general paddy, climate conditions had effect to the spread out of weed, agricultural pests, and plant diseases. The ways for good agricultural practice were focusing on cost reduction, recording details by group, observing quality of water, destroying weed by cutting grass on ridge area. The way to promote the agriculturists to prepare for GAP guarantee must based on the principle of “Make It Easy” that was easy to understand and easy to practice. The results of chance to get GAP guarantee found that all agriculturists had chance to GAP guarantee.
