THE MODEL OF DEVELOPMENT FOR INFORMATION SEARCHING COMPETENCE IN SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENT

Abstract

The objectives of the research article were: 1) study and develop competency by information searching in secondary school student, 2) develop information searching course in secondary school student, 3) develop model about course management of competency by information searching in secondary school student, and 4) study the results of enhancing the competence by information searching in secondary school student. The study was research methods and development such as 1) study the research conceptual from document analysis, 2) study and develops competence by information searching. The data was selected by 25 relate persons who used information searching assessment, 3) develop course using a semi-structured interview. Key informant form representing of 20 librarians, also outline the pattern and reviewing the draft by an expert based on seminar, and 4) study the results of enhancing performance by using assessment. Sample from secondary school student of 20 persons, selected specific example, statistics, percentage, mean standard deviation and t-test for content analysis. The research found that: 1. competency information searching such as 1.1) purpose, 1.2) main role, 1.3) main function, 1.4) competency unit, and 1.5) sub-competency unit. The development was techniques searching have a competency unit and sub-unit. 2. Course development was unit of competence 8 modules 16 learning outcomes found that it was agree on assessment items, competency units, sub-competences, operating criteria, scope, skills and knowledge, and evidence of knowledge and practice with the lowest CVR criteria, the result was .99. 3. It was found 5 Steps of learning management model such as 3.1) teacher presents the content, 3.2) divided student group, 3.3) brainstorming and helping, 3.4) show results, recommend and summarize results, and 3.5) evaluate. and 4. the competence enhancing effect was passed the criteria for 75% of all learning outcomes, the highest score was learning modules, systematize, synthesize, and collect information. The learner's score was statistically significantly higher than the .05 level.
