Continued Formation for Religious Life

Amid Changes of the world today that bear an effect not only on the Economic system, the Politic and the way of lives of the people around the world even the religious life cannot escape. Religious life is a life of consecration committed to God by professing to live of poverty, chastity and obedience and exercise service not only to their members in the same community but also to the people around, especially the poor, the rejected, and the disabled. For Religious to live such a life calls them to live faithfully not only to the commitment that he/she makes but also to the Charism of his/her congregation he/she professes.
This article is written to clarify the meaning of Consecrated Person in line with the teaching of the Church. According to the Church, the Consecrated Person is the one who responds to the call of God with the realization of his love. His Consecration sets him apart from worldly values and lives his life totally to His will and His Glory to come. To live such a commitment throughout his life Renewal at different stages is assisting him to attain his goal. The Congregation needs to see the importance of continued Formation and encourage the members to faithfully pursue their commitment and charism.
