The Implementation of Information Technology for Justice Administrative in Southern Border Provinces of Thailand: A Case Study of Security Case Tracking System and Remedy System

Abstract

This study attempts to analyze, design and develop a system prototype for administration of justice in southern border provinces of Thailand. The system aims to focus on security case tracking system and remedy system for people who have been affected by special law enforcement. The System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method has been employed throughout the process. Data collections for the study were gathered by in-depth interview with 35 government officials who work in justice organization and 20 relatives of suspect, or accused, or inmate. The results showed that there are two imperative issues of justice administrative in southern border provinces of Thailand required urgent resolution, which are security case tracking system and remedy system. These two systems are mainly to support both security cases affected by special law enforcement, and security cases which are not affected by special law enforcement (criminal procedure code). The result after system testing showed that this tracking system is able to hasten the working process of case tracking system and remedy system. The administration of justice in southern border provinces of Thailand are able to perform work more effectively. The future system improvement plan is to manage confidential information and the computation of monetary remedies in order to comply with the rules and regulation required high accuracy.
