Abstract

Society is complex and changes with time. Communication technology plays a role in learning, leading to the connection of modern technology with architecture to develop a variety of professional architectural media, which responds to the learning nature of the new generation. This research aims to study the creation of online video media on architectural sketching for Generation Z. It is a mixed methods research. It consists of quantitative research and creative research. The objective of the research is to study guidelines for creating online architectural media for Generation Z and to create architectural sketching media to promote new era learning. The sample group consisted of 170 undergraduate students from bachelor of architecture program and media evaluators with expertise in architectural creative media arts and design. Research tools include questionnaires and evaluation forms. Qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The research results found that for guidelines for creating online architectural media, the idea should be to communicate with video clips through social network media with the video clips being concise and easy to understand for learning and inspiration. Design guidelines for architectural media should have a semi-formal style, divide content into topics into separate clips, with images and soundtrack that create relaxing atmosphere; The audio should be intermittently narrated and include subtitles, with the duration of 6-10 minutes per clip. The communication channel is via YouTube platform. The creation of architectural sketching media to promote a new era learning is the storytelling of sketching basic skills that are the essentials of architecture. Through digital technology, it has become a unique architectural language, a community for learning about architecture in a new dimension towards a creative learning ecosystem.
