บทคัดย่อ

การวิจัยเรื่อง “ปัจจัยเชิงกายภาพของหอพักกับคุณภาพชีวิตของนักศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์” มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาเชิงเปรียบเทียบคุณภาพชีวิตของนักศึกษาที่เป็นผลจากองค์ประกอบเชิงกายภาพของหอพักที่ดำเนินการโดยมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อนำไปสู่การปรับปรุงองค์ประกอบเชิงกายภาพ และแนวทางบริหารจัดการที่ช่วยส่งเสริมคุณภาพชีวิตของนักศึกษาในหอพัก โดยศึกษาพื้นที่หอพักนักศึกษาที่ดำเนินการโดยมหาวิทยาลัย รวมทั้งสิ้น 4 พื้นที่ คือ หอพักเอเชี่ยนเกมส์ หอพักธรรมศาสตร์ ศูนย์รังสิต (หอพักใน) หอพักโรงพยาบาลธรรมศาสตร์ และหอพักทียูโดม แบ่งการวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยเชิงกายภาพของหอพักเป็น 3 ด้าน ได้แก่ องค์ประกอบภายนอกของอาคาร องค์ประกอบภายในของอาคาร และการให้บริการภายในหอพัก ผลจากการวิจัยเมื่อพิจารณาค่าเฉลี่ยของปัจจัยทั้ง 3 ด้าน พบว่า ปัจจัยด้านการให้บริการเป็นสิ่งที่มีความสำคัญต่อคุณภาพชีวิตของนักศึกษามากที่สุด รองลงมา คือ องค์ประกอบภายในของอาคาร และองค์ประกอบภายนอกของอาคาร ตามลำดับ โดยปัจจัยด้านการให้บริการต่างให้ความสำคัญต่อการรักษาความปลอดภัยของหอพักมากที่สุด ส่วนองค์ประกอบภายในอาคารมักเกี่ยวข้องกับขนาด สัดส่วนของที่พักอาศัย และสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกส่วนกลางในหอพัก ขณะที่องค์ประกอบภายนอกของอาคารมักให้ความสำคัญกับตำแหน่งที่ตั้ง และทัศนียภาพบริเวณโดยรอบของหอพักที่ควรมีความร่มรื่นและสวยงาม นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่า หอพักทั้งหมดต่างมีสภาพปัญหาที่ส่งผลเสียต่อคุณภาพชีวิตของนักศึกษา เนื่องจากอายุการใช้งานที่ค่อนข้างมาก และขาดการบริหารจัดการที่ดีของหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง จึงมีข้อเสนอแนะ คือ ด้านองค์ประกอบของอาคาร ควรปรับปรุงสภาพภายนอกและภายในอาคารที่ชำรุดทรุดโทรมให้มีสภาพเอื้อต่อการใช้งานมากขึ้น ส่วนข้อเสนอแนะด้านการให้บริการภายในหอพัก ควรมีนโยบายในการรักษาความปลอดภัยให้เข้มงวดมากขึ้นทั้งการเพิ่มจำนวนเจ้าหน้าที่/แม่บ้าน และเจ้าหน้าที่รักษาความปลอดภัยที่ให้บริการประจำหอพักและบริเวณจุดเสี่ยงในการเกิดอาชญากรรมให้มากขึ้น รวมถึงควรเพิ่มจุดให้บริการอินเตอร์เน็ตความเร็วสูงฟรีให้ครอบคลุมบริเวณพื้นที่หอพัก ทั้งนี้เพื่อเป็นการส่งเสริมให้นักศึกษาที่อยู่อาศัยในหอพักมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีขึ้น

Abstract

The latter consideration has stimulated the author to have an in-depth study on “Dormitory’s Physical Factors and the Quality of Thammasat University Students’ Lives.” The purpose of this research is to compare student lives that have been affected by the university-operated dormitories’ physical factors. It is hoped that this study will lead to a better improvement in physical components of student accommodation and better administration of student dormitories so that their residents will experience a better quality of life. The studied areas include four university-operated dormitories namely, the Asian Games Dorm, the Thammasat Dorm Rangsit Campus (the on-campus dorm), the Thammasat Hospital Dorm, and the TU Dome Dorm. The analysis was conducted on the physical factors that can be classified into three aspects: the outside components of the building, the inside components of the building, and the administrative duties and services provided within each building. The results, after taken the average of the three components into consideration, show that the administrative duties and services are of first and foremost. They affect the student quality of life. Second come the inside components of the building and they are followed accordingly by the outside components. Within the administrative duties and services, security is of top priority; whereas, the inside components poses the size of living quarter and shared conveniences as a threat While the dormitory location as well as its landscape is said to be important for the outside components. It was found that all student accommodations posed different problems that would affect the students’ quality of life and their well being. One of the obvious problems comes from the age of the building. Most accommodations have been in service for a long time and all lack good administration and maintenance. This leads to the following recommendations: the accommodation buildings need to be renovated both inside and outside so that they can effectively accommodate students. Inside the dormitory, security must be tight and the number of authorities, dormitory maids, as well as security guards must be increased, and more guards should regularly inspect places that are prone to crime. Last but not least, the high-speed internet should be installed in all dormitory buildings and its service area should cover all the accommodations. This is to ensure that all student residents will have a better quality of life.
