การจัดสภาพแวดล้อมทางกายภาพภายในหอสมุดกลางสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง เพื่อเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้ของสถาบันฯ

บทคัดย่อ

จากนโยบายการพัฒนาหอสมุดกลางสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง ที่เน้นการเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้ของชุมชนภายในสถาบัน ฯ ด้วยวิธีการยุบห้องสมุดประจำคณะมารวมศูนย์บริการไว้ที่อาคารส่วนกลางและกระจายการบริการ ในลักษณะของเคาน์เตอร์เซอร์วิส ในระดับคณะวิชาต่างๆ โดยการศึกษาเบื้องต้นพบว่ายังไม่ได้มีการศึกษาถึงความคิดเห็นและความต้องการของผู้ใช้บริการที่ครอบคลุมทุกกลุ่ม  งานวิจัยนี้จึงต้องการสำรวจความคิดเห็นและความต้องการที่มีต่อการจัดการสภาพแวดล้อมทางกายภาพและการบริการของหอสมุดกลาง เพื่อเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้ในสถาบันฯ โดยมีการศึกษาถึงนโยบายและการบริหารจัดการ และแนวโน้มการพัฒนา ของสำนักหอสมุดกลาง สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง ศึกษาพฤติกรรมและความต้องการของผู้ใช้บริการห้องสมุดภายในสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง ทั้งระดับคณะและระดับสถาบัน โดยใช้การวิจัยแบบสำรวจด้วยการสังเกตพฤติกรรมและใช้แบบสอบถาม กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 1,053 คน ทำการวิเคราะห์ด้วยโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปทางสถิติ เป็นค่าความถี่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และนำผลที่ได้มาประกอบกันเพื่อหาแนวทางการออกแบบสภาพแวดล้อมภายในและการบริการของสำนักหอสมุดกลางเพื่อพัฒนาไปสู่การเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้ ผลจากการศึกษาข้อมูลเบื้องต้นและทำการทดสอบแบบสอบถามพบว่าสำนักหอสมุดกลางสถาบันมี นโยบาย ด้านการบริการที่จะพัฒนาสำนักหอสมุดกลางให้เป็นศูนย์รวมการเรียนรู้ที่ทันสมัย  ให้คงเหลือมุมวารสารหรือจุดสืบค้นประจำคณะไว้ ผลจากการสอบถามความคิดเห็นความต้องการพื้นที่และความต้องการสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก จากบุคลากรภายในสถาบันพบว่าส่วนใหญ่เห็นด้วยกับนโยบายที่จะพัฒนาสำนักหอสมุดกลางไปสู่การเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้  แต่ยังมีความต้องการที่จะให้มีห้องสมุดประจำคณะอยู่ ด้วยเหตุผลทางด้านการใช้งานที่สะดวกรวดเร็ว และความต้องการความเฉพาะทางของห้องสมุดประจำคณะ  และผลจากการสังเกตพฤติกรรมการใช้บริการของนักศึกษาในห้องสมุดประจำคณะพบว่านักศึกษาแต่ละคณะมีลักษณะพฤติกรรมและความต้องการที่แตกต่างกัน เช่น นักศึกษาคณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์มีลักษณะการใช้บริการห้องสมุดเป็นกลุ่มใหญ่ ต้องการพื้นที่เอนกประสงค์เพื่อทำงานกลุ่ม ซึ่งพฤติกรรมดังกล่าวนั้นมีความแตกต่างจากนักศึกษาคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ ที่ส่วนใหญ่มีลักษณะการใช้งานแบบเดี่ยว

Abstract

According to the policy of developing central library of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang that emphasizes on as being learning center of community in the institute by dissolving faculty library and combine its service center at the central building to extend the service as the form of counter service in each faculties. According to the primary study, we have found that the study of view and library user requirement that covered to every groups is still haven’t done, so this that why this research has to survey people’s view and requirement that have toward the management of physical environment and service of central library as for being learning center in the institute by studying policy and management, including trend of development of central library. King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang has studied behavior and requirement of library user in the institute both in the level of faculty and level of institute by using the method of surveying by observing behavior and questionnaire with a sampling group of 1053 people and then analyze data by using statistical package as value of frequency, mean, and standard deviation and put the result together to find the way of designing environment inside as well as the service of central library of the institute to develop it further as learning center. According to the primary study and data we got from questionnaire we have found that central library of the institute has proposed the policy of services which stated that shall develop central library to be a modern learning center and left just only journal corner or searching point of the faculty. According to the survey of opinion, space requirement, and facility requirement from personnel in the institute we have found that most of them are agree with the policy that will keep faculty library as the reason of fast and convenient usability as well as special requirement of faculty library. And according to the result of observing behavior of using service of the student in faculty library we have found that student of each faculties has different behavior and requirement, e.g. student of architecture faculty will use the service of library as a large group that need multi-purpose space for group working which is completely different from student of engineering faculty that most of them will use the service library singly.
