Abstract

In this research, the researcher studies 1. the factors influencing knowledge management in the vocational education institutes 2. to construct a good predictive equation of the factors which affected the knowledge management in the vocational education institutes. The sample population consisted of 400 employees of the vocational education institutes. A questionnaire was used as a research instrument to collect germane data. Using techniques of descriptive statistics, the researcher analyzed the data collected in terms of frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Correlation coefficient method and multiple regression analysis were also employed by the researcher. Findings are as follows: 1. The factors which influenced the knowledge management in the vocational institutes in the study were found to be functioning at a high level. 2. The factors which were related to the knowledge management in the vocational institutes at a statistical significance of .05 were rewards and acceptance (X19); knowledge, skills and ability (X17); bachelor degree (X5); measurement and evaluation (X20); working experience more 10 years (X4); institute size 501-1,000 students (X10); industrial vocation institutes (X12) and institute size 1-200 students (X7). These factors could predict the vocational institute knowledge management by 81.00%. The equation can be written in terms of raw and standardized scores as follows:
Y′ = -1.21+ .44X19 + .40X17 + .35X20 + .27X5 + .21X4 + .19X10 + .15X12 + .11X7 Z = .44Z19 + .33Z17 + .32Z20 + .24Z5 + .18Z4 + .11Z10 + .09Z12 + .09Z7
