The development of consumer protection laws and policies based on the principle of consumer organization participation

Abstract
The research on the development of consumer protection laws and policies based on the principle of consumer organization participation aims to 1) study the problems, obstacles, and limitations of the development of consumer protection laws and policies based on the principle of consumer organization participation. 2) study the principles, concepts, and theories related to the development of consumer protection laws and policies based on the principle of consumer organization participation. 3) study the state policy, national strategy, and laws related to consumer protection. 4) study and analyze the problems and determine the development of consumer protection laws and policies based on the principle of consumer organization participation. 5) create the development of consumer protection laws and policies based on the principle of consumer organization participation. A mixed-method research methodology, documentary research, and qualitative research were used, with key informants from relevant parties. The research results found that consumers were taken advantage of, their rights were violated, consumer protection laws could not effectively protect consumers, and the involvement of consumer protection organizations is still limited. The researcher proposed the following developments: 1) Amend the Consumer Protection Act B.E. 2522 in Section 3 “Business Operators” and “Advertising Media”, Section 4 “Consumer Rights” in Section 9, by increasing the proportion of the Consumer Protection Board. 2) Amend the Consumer Council Establishment Act B.E. 2562 in Section 13, amending the Consumer Council Policy Board. To be in line with the digital technology society and to have consumer protection organizations operate under five strategies: 1) Support and implement the protection and defense of consumer rights, 2) Develop, recommend and promote policies, 3) Support and strengthen consumers and consumer organizations, 4) Communication for consumer protection, and 5) Development of mechanisms for consumer councils and provincial agencies.
