Effectiveness of Implementing a Positive Self-Talk Training Program in Diabetics patients with Depression

Depression in chronically ill patients is an important mental health problem that affects quality of life. Speaking to yourself, when negative, can be replaced with positive self talk. This can help reduce depression. this study A quasi-experimental two group was measured before and after the experiment. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of using self-reported positive self talk therapy in diabetic patients with depression. The sample was Patients diagnosed with the disease Diabetes (E-13) according to the classification system. [ICD-10], which was visited at Palian Hospital, Trang between August and September 2016, after screening, found 30 patients with chronic depression who had volunteered. Join the positive self-talk program. The tools used in the study were: Questionnaire about general patient information. 9Q Depression Self-Esteem Training Program Data analysis using computer program. The study indicated that Mean score of depression in diabetic patients after self-reported positive self-improvement program was significantly lower than before self-reported positive self-talk program at the .05 level. Studies show that Self-reported positive self-talk training can reduce depression in diabetic patients. Therefore, psychiatric nurses can bring positive self-talk programs. As an alternative to depression therapy.
