Abstract

The main research objectives were to study leadership traits, problems of the leadership, and solutions to the problems of leadership of executives at the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. This qualitative research employed interviews of 35 key informants. The findings revealed that leadership traits of executives at the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology consisted of 5 dimensions, i.e. commitment to work target achievement, applying academic and technological knowledge on work operation, collaborative teamwork, listening and accepting suggestions for change, and group leadership competency. It was recommended that the 5 leadership traits should be developed in all executive levels since they were managerial success indicators.   The various units in the Institute would be able to achieve objectives with skills and arts of leaders in persuading others to follow, appreciate, obey, be loyal, and voluntarily cooperate to work for shared purpose.
