Abstract

PURPOSES: To study the influence of marketing strategy, management, logistics management, and international financial activities in business operations that affected the business performance of border traders in the northern region of Thailand. And also, to propose a guideline for developing potential of Thai entrepreneur in the northern border when entering the ASEAN Economic Community. METHODS: It was a quantitative approach. The sample group used in this research was Thai border traders in Mae Sai and Chiang Saen Districts of Chiang Rai Province, Thailand.  A total of 400 traders were collected by using questionnaires as a tool for data collection. The sampling was stratified according to the proportion of border traders in the study area. Statistics used in data analysis were descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis.  RESULTS: showed that marketing strategy, management, logistics management, and international financial activities in business operations influenced business performance. THEORY/POLICY IMPLIATIONS: Border traders in the northern region should apply their strengths in their business operations, namely, having unique and distinctive products. Having a reserve fund for business operations and having market data to analyze competition trends, and should also increase business opportunities by relying on convenient transportation routes and modern communication technology.
