ลักษณะการใช้คำยืมภาษาอังกฤษพ้องเสียงในภาษาไทย

ลักษณะการใช้คำยืมภาษาอังกฤษพ้องเสียงในภาษาไทยปรากฏ 2 ลักษณะ คือ การพ้องเสียงที่เกิดจากการถ่ายทอดศัพท์ต้นทาง และการพ้องเสียงที่เกิดจากการตัดคำ ซึ่งสาเหตุเกิดจากระบบเสียงของคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษบางเสียงไม่มีในระบบเสียงภาษาไทย จึงทำให้ผู้ใช้ภาษาไทยไม่สามารถออกเสียงตามระบบเสียงของคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษเดิมได้ แต่ได้ออกเสียงคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษตามระบบเสียงที่มีอยู่ในภาษาไทย จึงกลายเป็นคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษพ้องเสียงในภาษาไทยที่ใช้สื่อสารกันทั่วไป
