Abstract

Social media has become a significant channel for conducting tourism business, particularly in selling tour packages through Facebook pages. This article aimed to 1) develop and validate a causal relationship model of loyalty to purchase Japan tour packages via Facebook pages and 2) examine causal factors influencing loyalty to purchase Japan tour packages via Facebook pages among consumers in Thailand. The research employed a quantitative methodology with a sample of 381 individuals who had previously purchased Japan tour packages via Facebook and resided in Thailand. Data collection was conducted using an online questionnaire, and statistical analyses included frequency, percentage, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and structural equation modeling (SEM). Findings indicated that the developed causal relationship model, comprising four dimensions: service quality, electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM), satisfaction, and loyalty, aligned well with empirical data. e-WOM and satisfaction had the most significant direct influence on loyalty to purchase Japan tour packages, with an effect size of 0.45. Service quality had an indirect influence on loyalty to purchase Japan tour packages, with an effect size of 0.647, through satisfaction and e-WOM , which functioned as mediating variables. Therefore, service providers should enhance service quality by responding promptly to customer inquiries to transform service experiences into satisfaction with the quality of tour packages and encourage customer participation and positive e-WOM , which serves as a mechanism for generating long-term loyalty in purchasing tour packages.
