The Innovation Organization of The Higher Education Institutions in Thailand

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to 1) study the supporting factors for innovation organization of the higher education 2) study the level of innovation organization of the higher education institutions in Thailand and 3) study the relationship of supporting factors for innovation organization and the level of innovation organization of the higher education institutions in Thailand. The samples were selected by using Multistage Sampling method. The population in this research were the 201 higher education institutions which were grouped into public and private higher education institutions. The 4 institutions were then selected from each group resulting in 314 questionnaire answerers. The supporting factors for innovation organization comprised 9 factors which were 1) personnel 2) structure 3) teamwork 4) culture 5) communication 6) tools and technologies 7) premises 8) knowledge and 9) creativity. These factors were tested for their relationship with the level of organizational innovation.

The results revealed that the sample gave a high weight of important on creativity      ( = 5.70, SD = 0.85) and knowledge ( = 5.56, SD = 0.99) factors and had quite high level of opinion for the level of innovation organization ( = 5.29, SD = 0.79). The 5 supporting factors for innovation organization which could be the predictors for the levels of innovation organization at around 56.3 percentages were structure, culture, communication, tools and technologies and creativity.
