Knowledge and Understanding, and Attitudes Affecting Readiness in Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology in Project Management

Abstract

This research aims to study levels of knowledge and understanding, attitudes and readiness for applying artificial intelligence technology in project management and to study the relationship between personal factors, knowledge and understanding and attitudes affecting readiness for applying artificial intelligence technology in project management. The sample group was 400 people working on project management in Thailand. The questionnaire was used as a tool to collect data, and  the descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation were used to analyze the data. The hypothesis was tested using the independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA and simple linear regression analysis. According to the hypothesis testing, it was found that people with different personal factors had no difference in readiness for applying artificial intelligence in project management. However, knowledge and understanding and attitudes affected readiness for applying artificial intelligence technology in project management with statistically significance at 0.05. The present research has suggested a planning approach for the readiness of using artificial intelligence technology in project management which will benefit those who are interested in or the organizations that would like to adopt such technology in project management.
