The Study of factors Influenced Decisions to Study Chinese in Thai Universities and Chinese Universities of Matthayom 6 Students who studied English-Chinese Program in Pathumthani

Abstract

The research aims to study about 1) factors Influenced decisions to study Chinese in Thai universities and Chinese universities of Matthayom 6 students who studied English- Chinese Program in Pathumthani and 2) proportion of Matthayom 6 students of English-Chinese Program in Pathumthani who decided to study Chinese in Thai universities and Chinese universities. The sample group is a group of 224 Matthayom 6 students of English-Chinese Program in Pathumthani during the second semester, 2019 by purposive sampling. The instruments used for the research is a questionnaire. Data was analyzed by average (x), percentage (%) and standard deviation (S.D). The results show 6 factors Influenced decisions to study Chinese in Thai universities and Chinese universities of Matthayom 6 students who studied English-Chinese Program in Pathumthani. The first factor which has overall influence at high level is about education personel ( =4.42, S.D.=0.59). After the proportion of Matthayom 6 students of English-Chinese Program in Pathumthani who decided to study Chinese in Thai universities and Chinese universities was analyzed, the result show thatแ43.75% of those who had been to China decided to study in Thai universities. This indicates that Matthayom 6 students still believe that Thai universities has good curriculum and Chinese learning management because some of students who have been to China decided to study Chinese in Thai universities. while 2.23% of the students who had been to China decided to study in Chinese universities
