Political Participation in the General Election on 24 March B.E. 2562 of the Police officer, the Metropolice Division 1

This objectives of the research were to study the level of political participation and compare the level of political participation in the general election on March 24 B.E. 2562 of the police officer, the Metropolice Division 1 then classified by each personal factors and seek for the guidelines of political participation in the general election on March 24 B.E. 2562 of the police officer, the Metropolice Division 1 then classified by each personal factors. The research is quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative research has been collected data by using a questionnaire from a sample group who are the 322 police officers who worked at the Metropolice Division 1. The statistics that have been used for data analysis included frequency distribution, the percentage, mean, standard deviation, the t-test and One-way analysis of variance (F-test). The qualitative research has been collected data by using in-depth interviews from sample group who were 17 police officers at the Metropolice Division 1.The data analysis was completed by using content analysis. The results found 1) the overall political participation in the general election on March 24 B.E. 2562, of police officers at the Metropolice Division 1 was at a high level. 2) The differences of personnel factors included gender, age, marital status, education level, and rank of police officers at the Metropolice Division 1 were not affect political participation. 3) Guidelines for political participation in the general election on March 24 B.E.2562, of police officers at the Metropolice Division 1 included: shall promote and support the police officers to exercise the vote right for being a good role model for people, shall organize the activities that police officers and the people to participate in the election for building up a good relationship among them and find a coalition to report fraudulent clues, shall organize the meeting to plan and seek support in term of the workforce from other police bureaus to monitor the election units to reduce issues in lacking workforces. The result of this research can be used as the guidelines for police officers to participate in politics. It is also a model for the study of overall political participation in the election of police officers at the level of the Royal Thai Police which led to further development of the political participation of police officers at other bureaus.
