MATERNAL AND CHILD WELFARE MANAGEMENT OF THUNG SADAO MUNICIPALITY CHACHOENGSAO PROVINCE

Abstract

This research was to study the needs, mechanisms, processes and guidelines for maternal and child welfare management of Thung Sadao Municipality, Chachoengsao Province. This research was a Mixed Method Research including quantitative research methodology. The sample group totaled 278 people by distributing questionnaires. The data was analyzed by basic statistics such as percentage, mean, standard deviation. As for the qualitative research methodology, from 20 persons, with descriptive data analyzed. It is found that the level of maternal and child welfare management needs of Thung Sadao Municipality, Chachoengsao Province in overall aspects were at a high level. For maternal and child welfare management mechanisms, it was found that there were 10 main mechanisms namely (1) maternal and child policy preparation (2) Organizing a Child Support Scheme (3) Seize collaboration (4) Enhancing the quality of the protection system (5) Promoting health literacy (6) Public relations and knowledge creation (7) Maternal and Child Health Promotion (8) Compliance with the Infant and Child Food Market according to Act 2017 (9) monitoring, control and supervision and (10) evaluation reports. For the welfare management process, there were pre-pregnancy and postnatal development care at age 6 both mother and child. For the guidelines for maternal and child welfare management of Thung Sadao Municipality, Chachoengsao Province. It is found that there were child and youth development plan, Establishing a strategic plan for local and public participation, Establishing a social aid center, Developing a system of public relations channels and creating knowledge and understanding, Development of maternal and child care team system with having maternal and child knowledge, Enhancing the quality of the social protection system to cover all dimensions, and project management such as a parent promotion project, monitoring children through building a community mentor. Therefore, Thung Sadao Municipality should establish a babysitting team to care for mothers and children who are affected by the epidemic situation and other situations such as family breakdown, defenseless family and family debt.
