Abstract

Objectives of this research paper were: 1. To study the elderly’s quality of life development 2.To study the relationship between the Buddhadhamma application and the elderly’s quality of life development and 3. To study the problems, obstacles and suggestions for Buddhadhamma application for the elderly’s quality of life development. Methodology was the mixed methods: The quantitative research; data were collected from 372 samples who were senior citizens living at Muang Suphanburi Municipality, Suphanburi Province, using Taro Yamane’s formula to calculate the sample size and the data were analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. As for the relations between Buddhadhamma application and the elderly’s quality of life development strategy at Muang Suphanburi Municipality, Suphanburi Province. was analyzed with Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The qualitative research, data were collected from 8 key informants by in-depth-interviewing and analyzed by content descriptive interpretation with the table indicating the key informants frequency. The data were used to support the quantitative research method. Findings were as follows: The findings from relations analysis between Buddhadhamma application and the elderly’s quality of life development at Muang Suphanburi Municipality, Suphanburi Province, by overall, had positive relations at relatively high level with statistically significant level (R = 0.637, Sig = 0.11).accepting the set hypothesis. The elderly’s quality of life development strategy and the elderly’s quality of life development at Muang Suphanburi Municipality, Suphanburi Province, by overall had positive relations at relatively high level with statistically significant level (R = 0.666, Sig = 0.01), accepting the set hypothesis. The problems, obstacles of Buddhadhamma application for the elderly’s quality of life development at Muang Suphanburi Municipality, Suphanburi Province , were found that: Sila, precept aspect; 1) There were various sewage such as animal dung and tree planting along the walk way by some people that created the inconvenience for travelling. 2) The elderly had the rare opportunity to participate in activities for the social and society benefits. For Citta, mental aspect; 1) Activities for the monastery entry to worship the Buddha and chanting were rather rare, 2) There were stress and anxiety in life in the elderly society. For Panna, wisdom aspect, 1) The brain began to work more slowly, memory was not bright, forgetfulness began to occur now and then that were the obstacles for daily activities.
