Abstract

This research was aimed to 1. study conditions of operating of public relations in schools; 2. study problems of operating of public relations in schools, and 3. offer suggestions for operating of public relations in schools. The sample group consisted of 244 school administrators and teachers responsible for operating of public relations in schools under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. Statistics employed in the study included mean and standard deviation. Suggestions concerning the problems of operating of public relations obtained from the interviews of 5 experts in educational administration. Data were analyzed using content analysis. Findings revealed that 1) conditions of operating of public relations in the schools included 4 stages and were performed in a high level. The stage that showed the highest mean was found on research and listening. The stage that showed the lowest mean was communication, 2) the problems showed on operating of public relations were found in a low level. The stage that showed the highest mean was research and listening and the stage that showed the lowest mean was evaluation, and 3) suggested guidelines to solve the operating of public relations problems were found in 33 items and categorized based on the 4 stages of operating of public relations as follows: 9 items on research and listening, 6 items on planning and decision making, 10 items on communication, and 8 items on evaluation.
