Factors affecting frailty in the elderly in Patum sub-district Mueang district Ubon Ratchathani province

This study was a correlational research. The objectives were to factors analysis between frailty in elderly people. The sample consists of 140 people who was over 60 years old, multi-stage random sampling method. The instruments used were Thai Geriatric Depression Scale, Mini-Mental State Examination, Thai version Mini Nutrition Assessment, Barthel Activities of Daily Living and Frailty questionnaire referenced by Fried frail index. The Data were analyzed by using descriptive and multiple regressions. The results as follows: Frailty in the elderly people in Patum sub -district communities Mueang district, Ubon Ratchathani was 22.9 percent. Multiple factors include gender, age, marital status, level of education, underlying diseases, polypharmacy, history of admission in the last year, falls history, depression, cognitive impairment, nutrition and activities of daily living were found affecting with frailty with a statistically significant at .05 level. Predictive equation R Square = .540 (54%)
