Abstract

The situation of the COVID-19 outbreak affecting society in all sectors. The government has been trying to manage the situation. They try to communicate to allay people's anxiety in this situation. In addition, public relations have been made to allow people to get vaccinated against COVID-19. But misinformation is presented to the public, causing misunderstandings and a lack of confidence in getting the vaccine. It could be said the management of communications from the government was ineffective. This article aims to present the process of applying communication management in the public sector. To build public confidence about the prevention and control measures for the epidemic of COVID-19 and the results of the review of knowledge related to communication and management can present the applied communication management process step as follows; 1] problem determination, 2] setting goals and communication objectives, 3] defining the main target group., 4] setting up communication strategies, 5] determination of channels and methods of communication, 6] putting the plan into practice, 7] evaluation, summary and improvement of the communication project
