People's Contribution to Local Development

Abstract

At present, Thailand has paid attention to the principle of participation in the development of the country in each aspect in terms of politics, society, economy, and culture to enter a participatory democracy. To change the public administration under the concept of participatory public administration and the concept of good governance, the public sector has to give opportunities to the people and those who are involved to get the participation. This article will present about the participation of planning, problem analysis, priorities, setting goals, setting guidelines, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and making decisions. The participation in the activities consist of resource support, coordination, and taking advantage as well as participating in the evaluation so that people in the community will know about the problems and obstacles to jointly proceed to find solutions. In the past, it is presented that the obstacles and the problems of local government according to the principle of decentralization aim to get people to participate in the operation, to have more relationships with the agency, and to make the local area strong and sustainable.
