Design and Development of Lamps from Waste Wood

Abstract

The objectives of this study aim to design and develop products from waste wood using Thai local wisdom and the minimal art theory with the simplicity shape in order to develop and re-design the shape and figure and study the joint assembly of timber using wood joint to design new styles of wooden lamps which can be used to decorate the house in different styles including the use of scraps of twigs to decorate the product. The creative design of this product will be able to promote the reputation of handicraft products and using Thai local wisdom to add more product value and help reduce wood waste. The satisfaction assessment results from 100 questionnaires found that most of them were satisfied with style of the product that is beautiful to use at the highest level with an average of 4.56, satisfied with the proper use for decorating the house at a high level with an average of 4.43 and the added value of the product is suitable to use at the high level with an average of 4.25, respectively.
