Guidelines for the Development of Academic Administration in Small Schools Under the Office of Phetchabun Primary Educational Service Area 3

This present study aims to investigate the current conditions, desirable conditions, and needs as well as to propose the guidelines for the development of academic administration of small schools under the Office of Phetchabun Primary Educational Service Area 3. This study employed descriptive research methods. Data were collected from 269 teachers using five-point scale questionnaires. The statistics used in the data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. In addition, this study also collected qualitative data from five executives using the semi-structured interview. The collected data were investigated based upon the content analysis and the needs index were assessed using PNI modified. The results of the study showed that in terms of the current conditions, the mean score for the academic administration of small schools under the Office of Phetchabun Primary Educational Service Area 3 in four aspects was at a medium level. The mean score for the desirable conditions was at a high level. In addition, the most necessary need is the development of learning process. In addition, the guidelines for the development of academic administration of small schools under the Office of Phetchabun Primary Educational Service Area 3 included the development of learning process, building lesson plans based upon the specified learning units, using research and activities to develop the proficiency, promoting participation, using learning by doing approach, and creating suitable learning environment.
