Abstract

Development of oxide paint on Dan-Kwian clay surface for decoration in Dan-Kwian pottery with the theory and techniques of ceramics. Experimental color oxides that are bright, beautiful and popular with people today. Dan-Kwian ground beef has a reddish-brown to black-brown tone when heated at high temperatures. Therefore, an experiment was conducted to compare kaolin primer and no kaolin under Dan-Kwian soil texture. From the oxide paint, the kaolin paint was compared to help the colored oxides have a brighter and more vibrant color. By using the theory of straight lines (Line Blend) to paint on the surface of the work (Sgraffito) burned once (One Fire) at a temperature of 1,200 degrees Celsius, complete atmosphere with an electric stove. By adding oxide to give the color a good and beautiful color formula for all 5 colors, namely, the fourth formula blue contains 8%, the fifth formula green contains 10%, the fifth formula pink contains 10%, and the fifth formula is purple. 4 has 8% content and 5th formula yellow has 10% content, come decorate Dan-Kwian pottery works through shapes and surfaces to add outstanding beauty and aesthetic mood.
