Effects of Using E-learning on Learning Achievement for 3 rd Year Nursing Students

The quasi-experiment study aimed to what extent e-learning program implementation affect students’ learning achievement (LA). One hundred ninety- four third year nursing students of the academic year 2020 and 2021 who enrolled in the midwifery and maternal newborn nursing I course were recruited to participate in the study. Students of the academic year 2020 were assigned to be the control group that were taught by traditional teaching method. Whereas those of the academic year 2021, the experiment group, received the designed e-learning program. Participants of each group were matched by GPA and gender. The e-learning program consisted of Both groups were assessed by demographics questionnaire and pre-test at the beginning of the program. At the end of the program, participants were given a post-test. Frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used to analyze descriptive data. Paired t-test was used to compare the results. The result showed that there was a significant improvement in LA after learning via the e-learning program (t=73.927, df=96, p <.05). A the end of the program, the mean LA score in the experiment group was higher than that of the control group (t = 27.130, df = 192, p <.05).
