Quality of Working Life Promotion of Subdistrict Administrative Organization’s staffs in Nakhon Luang District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

Abstract

This research has objectives to 1) study the quality of working life of the subdistrict administrative organization’s staff, 2) compare the quality of working life of the subdistrict administrative organization’s staff using individual factors, and 3) study a guideline to improve quality of working life of the subdistrict administrative organization’s staffs. Samples for the quantitative study included 158 staff working in the subdistrict administrative organization in Nakhon Luang district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. For the qualitative study, civil servants and political officials of the subdistrict administrative organization in Nakhon Luang district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province were used for samples. Tools deployed in the quantitative study were questionnaires. Meanwhile, the interview was used to conduct the qualitative study. Regarding the data analysis, frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, T-test, F-test, and the least significant difference (LSD) were utilized in the quantitative data analysis. Also, content analysis was undertaken in the qualitative data analysis. The research revealed that 1) Overall quality of working life of the subdistrict administrative organization’s staff in Nakhon Luang district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province was at the highest level. Moreover, the average scores of each perspective from the highest to the lowest are in the following orders: Sufficient and fair compensation, Work safety, Work-related knowledge and capabilities development, Job security and progress, and Social and work integration, 2) The staffs of the subdistrict administrative organization in Nakhon Luang district whose ages, statuses, educational levels, and years of service are different, have different overall quality of working life, and 3) The guidelines to enhance quality of working life of the subdistrict administrative organization’s staffs in Nakhon Luang district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province are as follows: (1) Work environment should be adjusted to be more supportive for staffs to undertake works, (2) Benefits should be enhanced, for example, accommodations, shuttle buses, and canteen should be provided, and (3) The staffs should be granted opportunities to undergo professional development and training, and should have opportunities to study in a higher level.
