Abstract

The development of International relations theory since the end of the First World War has truly reflected the nature of diversity and pluralism. In addition, the study of international relations in recent years should extend its boundary and provide more intellectual spaces for alternative approaches, which are in fact can explain an event in international arena as much as the mainstream theory. In so doing, this paper takes Antonio Gramsci’s political thoughts and the Neo-Gramscian thesis as a milestone of the study. This paper thereby concludes that the idea of Hegemony and Historic Bloc coined by Gramsci should be adopted in studying international relations.
