Abstract

This paper aims to analyze “Kathoey Assemblage” and the establishment of power relation in a social network named “Mother Clanship”. Qualitative approach was applied to collect data from Simon Cabaret. Research tools included in-depth interview guideline, and participant observation checklist. Narrative technique and content analysis were adopted. Social network analysis used free recall social network form to show density, centrality measure, and closeness centrality by UCINET 6 version 6.594 (Free trial user) and NetDraw version 2.155. This paper found that, firstly, “Kathoey Assemblage” was established from socioeconomic motivation. The “Assemblage” was in the form of collective individual structure who has been socio-cultural abused form social, and created plateaus. The process of assemblage emerged from deterritorialization, reterritorialization, and coding impact on complex space, identity, and sub-Kathoey assemblage. Secondly, the power relation was reconstructed via social network called “Mother Clanship” with density = 0.998 (S.D. 0.047), centrality measure =79, and closeness centrality =1.000. In addition, social networks were controlled by Mae Pu (F12) and Khun Na Sandy (F17).
