Abstract

This paper employs the analytical framework of the economic theory of Overdeterminist Marxism with the aim to illustrate that university lecturer is academic proletariat. The analysis of fundamental class process signifies that university lecturer creates surplus value by producing academic commodity which is the variety of academic courses. The analysis of subsumed class process reveals that trustees (boards of faculty, dean and administrative team) appropriate, allocate, and distribute surplus value to various recipients in order to maintain capitalist relationship. This paper also reveals that nonclass process could create contradiction to the surplus value creation of the university lecturer
