อำนาจอธิปัตย์กับเทววิทยาการเมือง: จากโลกของแบบของเพลโตสู่เจตจำนงของพระเจ้าของออกัสติน

บทคัดย่อ
บทความฉบับนี้มีเป้าหมายเพื่อค้นหานัยสำคัญทางความคิดทางการเมืองในเชิงเทววิทยาที่ส่งผลต่อการทำความเข้าใจและการขยายมโนทัศน์ทางการเมืองในเรื่องอำนาจอธิปัตย์ ที่ปรากฎผ่านงานปรัชญาการเมืองคลาสสิคอย่างเพลโต กลุ่มความคิดแบบเพลโตนิซึ่ม และออกัสติน โดยการศึกษาแนวคิดของเพลโตและกลุ่มเพลโตนิซึ่มอย่างฟายโล แสดงให้เห็นถึงความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างทฤษฎีตัวแบบและคำอธิบายถึงการมีอยู่ของพระผู้เป็นเจ้า ผ่านการสร้างโลกและต้นแบบของสิ่งต่างๆ ที่เข้าใจได้ อันเป็นแบบแผนของพระวจนะของพระองค์ ที่นำไปสู่การสร้างสรรพสิ่งต่างๆ ในเวลาต่อมา แนวคิดที่เกี่ยวข้องกับพระวจนะของพระเจ้าดังกล่าว ยังปรากฎให้เห็นผ่านความคิดของออกัสตินในประเด็นเรื่องพระตรีเอกภาพ ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงเจตจำนงอันเสรีของพระองค์ในการมีและเลือกใช้พระราชอำนาจอันเด็ดขาดที่มีอยู่อย่างยิ่งใหญ่เหนือสิ่งต่างๆ ทั้งปวง ซึ่งเป็นภาพสะท้อนที่ชัดเจนของแนวคิดที่ว่าด้วยอำนาจสูงสุดในการปกครอง หรือ ‘อำนาจอธิปัตย์’ นั่นเอง ข้อสรุปของการศึกษาในครั้งนี้เน้นย้ำถึงมุมมองที่ว่า แม้ว่าแนวคิดเรื่องอำนาจอธิปัตย์โดยทั่วไปจะถูกมองว่าเป็นแนวคิดทางการเมืองสมัยใหม่ แต่การศึกษารากฐานทางความคิดที่เกี่ยวข้องกับอำนาจอธิปัตย์ในอดีต ก็แสดงให้เห็นถึงความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างความคิดที่เกี่ยวกับเทววิทยาการเมืองในอดีตและทฤษฏีการเมืองสมัยใหม่ อีกทั้งยังช่วยขยายความเข้าใจในมโนทัศน์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับอำนาจอธิปัตย์ ที่ดำรงอยู่ในปัจจุบันได้อีกด้วย
