บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแรงขับเคลื่อนภายใต้พฤติกรรมการดำเนินนโยบายที่เป็นปฏิปักษ์ต่อการแก้ไขปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศโลกของสหรัฐอเมริกาสมัยอดีตประธานาธิบดีโดนัลด์ ทรัมป์ ผ่านมุมมองจิตวิทยาการเมือง โดยวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบทางจิตของอดีตประธานาธิบดี สามประการ ซึ่งประกอบด้วย บุคลิกลักษณะ ความผิดปกติทางจิต และเจตคติต่อปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศโลก ตลอดจนประเมินผลกระทบที่เกิดจากพฤติกรรมการดำเนินนโยบายดังกล่าวในระดับระหว่างประเทศ บทความนี้ใช้ระเบียบวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ เน้นที่การวิเคราะห์หลักฐานปฐมภูมิเป็นสำคัญ ข้อถกเถียงหลักของบทความ คือ บุคลิกลักษณะ ความลุ่มหลงในตนเอง และเจตคติที่ปฏิเสธการมีอยู่ของปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศโลกของอดีตประธานาธิบดีทรัมป์ เป็นแรงขับเคลื่อนสำคัญภายใต้พฤติกรรมการดำเนินนโยบายเชิงปฏิปักษ์ต่อการแก้ไขปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ พฤติกรรมการดำเนินนโยบายในลักษณะข้างต้นลดทอนภาวะผู้นำของสหรัฐอเมริกา ในการแก้ไขปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศในเวทีโลก เพื่อฟื้นฟูภาวะผู้นำที่ถดถอยดังกล่าว บทความนี้เสนอว่า รัฐบาลสหรัฐฯ ควรดำเนินนโยบายทางการทูตเพื่อสร้างความไว้ใจ พร้อมทั้งสร้างความร่วมมือกับประเทศจีนในเวทีโลกเพื่อให้การแก้ไขปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ มีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น และบรรลุเป้าหมายการลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกตามที่ระบุไว้ในความตกลงปารีส
